What to expect
Since its reopening, the Monnaie de Paris has become a major player on the Parisian art scene, offering an ambitious program. This is once again the case with this extensive retrospective dedicated to one of the stars of the British art scene, Grayson Perry. The iconoclastic artist is primarily known for his porcelain works, but he also expresses himself through metalwork, tapestry, and engraving. While these techniques are usually associated with decorative arts, he transforms them to explore universal themes such as social barriers, religion, sexuality, and gender. Each piece in the Monnaie de Paris retrospective showcases his signature dark humor and a deeply insightful perspective on contemporary society.
