What to expect

With its 350,000 years of existence, the Neanderthal species deserved its own exhibition. And now it has one. With Neanderthal the Exhibit at the Musée de l'Homme, it finally takes center stage. This nomadic gatherer and hunter reveals all the secrets of his life. Far from static representations, the exhibition at the Musée de l'Homme allows visitors to discover his natural environment, daily activities, and funeral rites. A unique opportunity for an educational family outing, this retrospective uncovers many aspects of a being long considered inferior to Homo sapiens. Yet Neanderthal man hunted with spears, painted in caves, and commemorated his dead. Thus, this exhibition corrects many preconceived ideas for adults and introduces a whole new world to children. In an immersive journey, both adults and children can travel back in time and discover one of the first humans, a contemporary of Homo sapiens.
