What to expect

In the department of Bouches-du-Rhône, in Les Baux-de-Provence, the Quarries of Lights welcome you all year round to enjoy exceptional multimedia shows.

Situated on the ruins of a former stone quarry, they offer amazed visitors a concept that has long remained unique. Projected onto outdoor walls 15 meters high, as well as on the floor and pillars of the quarry, the works of the greatest names in art history will appear to you in all their splendor.

To provide you with a total immersion in the beauty of art, the Quarries of Lights have particularly innovative infrastructure. 70 state-of-the-art projectors broadcast high-definition magnificent paintings over an area of around 16,000 m2. Thanks to them, dive into the world of major artists in our history and discover the profound richness of the details of their paintings.

Quarries of Lights Schedule

Quarries of Lights are open every day:

January, March, November, and December: 10 am - 6 pm
April, May, June, September, and October: 9:30 am - 7 pm
July and August: 9:30 am - 7:30 pm

Annual closure of the Quarries of Lights from January 7th to March 1st, 2019

Last entry 1 hour before closing.
Exhibitions are shown continuously (there is no session schedule).

Full Price: €12.50
Reduced Rate: €10.50 for youths aged 7 to 17, students, job seekers, people with reduced mobility, holders of the Education Pass*
Free for children under 7, journalists, holders of the SNELAC, ICOM, and ICOMOS cards*

* Upon presentation of valid documentation dated within the last 6 months.

Visit Tips

Quarries of Lights are fully accessible to people with reduced mobility.
School groups are regularly welcomed during weekdays.
The quarries are cool (14° to 16° in the auditorium). We advise dressing accordingly.
Pets are not allowed on the premises.

Getting to Quarries of Lights

The quarries are located 800 meters from Château-des-Baux, 15 km northeast of Arles, and 30 km south of Avignon.
By car: highways A7, A9, A54. GPS coordinates: latitude: 43.748 N / longitude: 4.795 E. Quarries of Lights has free parking.
By bus: line 59 Saint Rémy de Provence – Arles (from May 25th to September 29th).
By train: TGV stations in Aix-en-Provence and Avignon.
